Rules
The following are the official contest rules and entry qualifications:
- The fanfiction story must be about Sailor Moon or a Sailor Moon Crossover. (Just so we're clear.)
- The fanfiction story must be original. (As in not a copy of someone else's fanfiction story or a book or movie you've read or seen recently.)
- Unless the story is nominated for the "On-going Fic" category, the fanfiction story must be completed upon nomination.
- The fanfiction story(ies) must have been completely or at least partially written in the 2006 calendar year. Meaning, if it is a chapter story and it was started before January 1st, 2006, but finished in 2006, then it is eligible for nomination. Revisions or reposts are NOT eligible.
- The fanfiction story must be nominated before Midnight May 15, 2007 (5/15/07), PST (Pacific Standard Time.)
The story must then be seconded by May 31st, 2007.
We will contact the author upon being nominated, in which they have until May 31st, 2007 to accept the nomination.
- Authors may not nominate or second their own fanfiction.
- Authors are free to accept and may reject any and all nominations as they see fit.
- The same fanfiction story CAN be nominated in more than one category. For example: if a story is a genre of romance and humor, it can be nominated for both the romance and the humor categories.
- Authors are eligible for 'author of the year' if they have shown progress in a fanfiction between January 1st, 2006 and December 31st, 2006.
- All nominations and votes will be tracked by the submitter's email address and IP. Use of multiple aliases is strictly prohibited. ALL those caught trying to cheat the system will have ALL nominations and votes NULLIFIED. If you make a mistake, simply email Bunny and have the correction noted. We know the difference between those who accidently push the button twice and those trying to cheat, so no worries, but CHEATERS WILL BE NULLED!
- Absolutely NO award rigging! These awards are not a popularity contest; they are a reader's choice awards. Placing buttons or banners on your website or making a comment in author's notes of your story that you have been nominated etc. is acceptable, even advisable - we even provide you with the blinkies. However, soliciting nominations or votes through forums, mailing lists, etc. specifically for you as an author or for your story is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. If your story is really good - readers will nominate and vote for you, you do not need to “ask” them to do so. Simply making people aware that the awards are taking nominations and votes usually gets those reading your stories to go there with the intention of nominating you, so really - DON'T TRY TO RIG THE AWARDS. Soliciting nominations and votes is cheating the whole idea of "reader's choice" awards. Those caught doing this will be disqualified.
- No Hentai or Gay (Yaoi/Yuri) stories will be accepted. For a list of the available categories, please click here.
- At least four nominations are required for any given category before voting will be held. If fewer than four nominations are received, the category will be dropped for this year's awards. You can track the number of accepted nominations at the current entries page.
- Nomination and voting will take place via an automated form. Your nominations and votes will NOT be shared with anyone outside of the SMFFQCC staff.
- The Prizes will be as follows for each category:
1st Place
2nd Place
3rd Place
Honorable Mention(s) – Where Applicable

- Once the winners of the categories have been determined, the 1st place for each category will then be entered to compete in the “FanFiction of the Year” category.
- The winners will be announced and featured sometime after the voting begins. This will be sometime after May 31st, 2007 (4/30/07) when all of the nominations must be announced as official entry or not.
